The advisory business provides a range of corporate finance services to quoted and unquoted businesses and corporate broking services to quoted companies.

The institutional stockbroking business is based around the provision of balanced UK company research, distributed to a wide ranging institutional investor base, including some of the UK’s largest pension funds.

Institutional Research

Our research is designed to focus on the key investment attributes for a company or sector through in-depth analysis involving site visits, frequent contact with management teams and thorough peer group evaluation. Whilst we produce ad hoc reports on specific companies, our focus is on clusters of related businesses where our analysts use their sector expertise to identify valuation anomalies.

Our recommendation strategy is to provide a balanced view supported by methodical analysis of the company. We actively communicate with investors to share our current views.

Communication takes two main written forms: research reports and the daily opinion sheet providing brief summaries of our up-to-the-minute views on specific stocks.

Corporate Finance

Working in partnership with our corporate clients, and understanding the needs of small and mid sized companies, the corporate team is committed to providing strategies and solutions to help build shareholder value.

Our Corporate Finance team has a breadth of experience from a variety of backgrounds including investment banking, stockbroking, law, accountancy and financial regulation. This broad knowledge allows us to gain a better understanding of our clients' businesses, both at a corporate level and within the broader market context. This enables us to provide bespoke corporate finance advice that is appropriate for our clients’ specific requirements.

Corporate Broking

Our dedicated Corporate Broking department bridges the services of our Corporate Finance department and the distribution strength of our Institutional Sales teams. The highly experienced team provides advice on timing, structuring, and oversees equity market transactions across a broad range of funding options including equity, convertible, pre IPO and project finance.

Working closely with our sales and research colleagues, the broking team ensures effective communication with the market, provides ongoing advice on market conditions and oversees all aspects of investor relations for our corporate clients.
