Adviser Rankings Information

The Hemscott Adviser Rankings contains details of institutional advisers - Auditors, Financial Advisers, Financial PRs, Law Firms, Registrars and Stockbrokers - and their quoted clients. These companies are drawn from UK and Channel Island domiciled companies with equity shares fully listed on the London Stock Exchange, together with UK and overseas domiciled companies with equity shares listed on the Alternative Invesment Market. The Rankings also contain aggregated tables of these clients based upon their profitability and market capitalisation. All published statistics are compiled from Hemscott's Corporate Information Database ("CID"), and the cut-off date for the current rankings was 5th February 2008.

The information held on our database, relating to institutional advisers, is updated using primary sources. Company news releases to the London Stock Exchange are constantly monitored, along with statutory reports and press comment. Advisers regularly inform Hemscott of any client changes and, in addition, a regular proof letter is sent to each adviser requesting an update of their quoted client information.

It is important to note that whenever a request is received from an adviser to add a client to their list, the relevant company is always contacted to approve the request. This methodology is consistently applied, and ensures that the quoted companies themselves ultimately determine which advisers are linked to their record.

No relationship is listed unless it has been approved by both the client and the adviser.

For ranking scores in relation to the tables, a single point is awarded to reflect a confirmed client relationship, regardless of whether it is a sole or joint appointment.

The market capitalisation figures were produced using the closing share price on 5th February 2008. The profitability statistics detailed in the rankings tables represent the aggregate of the most recent year-end, pretax profit or loss figures.
