Announcements

Here we show the key figures from a company's latest financial announcement. For comparison purposes we also show the previous two financial years to this. In most cases this box will show Interim (half year) or Prelim (Preliminary/Final/End of year results) results. A small number of companies also provide first and third quarter financial statements and this part of the Facts report will also reflect these.
The announcements box is split into three key areas:
-
The box header states the type of announcement it was along with a Latest column and the two comparative year ends.
1st Quarter First three months of the financial year
Interim Cumulative total for the previous six months*
3rd Quarter Cumulative total for the previous nine months*
Prelim Preliminary or Final results - Cumulative total for the previous twelve months**providing the company hasn't had a change in financial year since the beginning of its latest financial year.
-
Four key figures from the actual announcement - Turnover, Pre-tax, Norm. EPS and DPS. See technical definitions below for a full explanation.
-
Growth statistics highlighting the year on year percentage growth for each of the four key figures.
| Turnover (£m) | Money received, or to be received, by the business for goods or services sold during the year. |
|---|---|
| Pre-tax (£m) | Profit on ordinary activities before tax, including all exceptional items. |
| Norm. EPS (p) |
Normalised Earnings Per Share = (Normalised Earnings (£m) / Derived Shares In Issue) x 100
Normalised Earnings = Reported Earnings (Unadjusted) + Non-Trading Losses + Exceptional Charges - Non-Trading Profits - Exceptional Income Report Earnings (Unadjusted) = Profit After Tax - Minority Interests - Preference Dividends Derived Shares In Issue = Earnings Unadjusted (from the announcement) / EPS Unadjusted (from the announcement) Example: Earnings Unadjusted of £1.00m / EPS Unadjusted 1.00p = 10,000,000 shares in issue |
| DPS (p) | Dividend Per Share |
| Growth (%) | ((this - last)/last) x 100 |
