Your screen resolution is probably set to a lower size than this website requires. You need to have at least a resolution of 1024x768 to get the best from Hemscott.com. The screen resolution can usually be changed by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting 'Properties', then click the 'Settings' tab.

You may be using an outdated web browser. Hemscott.com is optimised for version 6+ browsers. Popular browsers compatible with Hemscott.com include:

Hemscott.com does not provide support for pre-release or 'beta' versions of browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. We recommend you upgrade to the last available version of Internet Explorer 6.

If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, you should already have Internet Explorer 6 installed. If you know that you are using the latest version of your browser, and you still have problems, let us know via our contact form.

You can change the text-size in your browser settings. Go to the 'View' menu, and choose 'Text Size' to change your options.

When a page of your website loads, the adverts flicker for a second. Why is this?

This is a known issue with the browser Mozilla Firefox 1.0.x. Please upgrade your copy of Firefox to version 1.5.x or higher from the Mozilla website. If you see this problem with a different browser, please let us know via our contact form.

When viewing a Regulatory News story, the text is cut-off to the right. Why is this and how can I view the full story?

We receive Regulatory News in a set format direct from the London Stock Exchange. Often the lines are too long to fit within the width of our website. Should this happen on the story you are reading, we have provided a link (to the top right of the text) so that you may open the story in a new window.

I am using Internet Explorer on an Apple Macintosh computer. Your website appears disjointed on screen, and certain features do not work. Why is this and what can I do?

Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser for Apple Macintosh computers was officially discontinued at the end of 2005. For more information, view this announcment on the Microsoft website.

Hence, the latest version of Hemscott.com has not been designed or tested to work with this browser and operating system combination. If you are using an Apple Macintosh, we suggest you view this site using either Apple's Safari browser, or Mozilla Firefox.

If you are using either of these browsers, and you still have problems viewing the site, let us know more details of your problem via our contact form.
