Interim Management Statement - three months ended 31 May 2009


To the members of Aberdeen New Thai Investment Trust PLC

This Interim Management Statement ('IMS') has been produced solely to provide additional information to shareholders as a body to meet the relevant requirements of the UK Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules. It should not be relied upon by any other party or for any other purpose.


This IMS relates to the three month period from 1 March 2009 to 31 May 2009 and contains information that covers this period and the period from 1 June 2009 up to the date of publication of this IMS, unless otherwise specified.


Investment objective

To provide shareholders with a high level of long-term, above average capital growth through investment in Thailand.


Benchmark

Stock Exchange of Thailand ('SET') Index (Sterling-adjusted).


Material events 

Following shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting on 25 June 2009, a final dividend of 3.50 pence per ordinary share (2008: 2.75 pence) was declared which will be paid on 2 July 2009 to shareholders on the register as at 5 June 2009.


The Board is not aware of any significant events or transactions which have occurred between June 2009 and the date of publication of this IMS which would have a material impact on the financial position of the Company.


Share capital

As at 31 May 2009 and the date of publication of this IMS, the issued share capital of the Company was 18,095,420 Ordinary shares of 25 pence. There were no share buybacks during the period or between 1 June 2009 and the date of publication of this IMS.
